In 2020, 3 Major mobile telecommunications service providers in Vietnam have successfully tested the latest 5G network, the next generation of mobile broadband - after getting the 5G trial license by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC). According to MIC, starting from 2021, Vietnam will deploy 5G commercial network on a large scale. It is one of the pioneering and determined steps of becoming one of the countries having 5G make in Vietnam with good quality and cost savings for the network operator. In addition, Vietnam will also make efforts in planning the frequency of support for 5G infrastructure development uniformly in the lower Mekong countries in particular, and Southeast Asia in general to contribute to become a digital economic area, proposed by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc. Besides the development of a new generation of mobile networks, Vietnam is also particularly interested in the application of 5G in promoting production in high-tech agriculture and industrial, and considers the development of telecommunications infrastructure as the decisive factor in order to capture opportunities to integrate into the industrial revolution 4.0. However, currently in Vietnam, businesses and organizations are actively transforming digital towards a comprehensive digital economy and digital society by 2030, according to the national digital transformation project. Vietnam's telecommunications industry also needs to innovate, invest in exploitation, from connecting infrastructure to digital content services or investing, applying high-tech solutions to increase efficiency and change. comprehensively face of production, trade, service activities, creating a truly digital economy.
In that context, the target of the World Mobile Broadband & ICT 2021 Conference and Exhibition will focus on introducing roadmaps, implementation experience, and proposing new technologies to promote the development of mobile telecommunications infrastructure and fixed as well as the trend of developing digital content services on that platform.
The conference will have a keynote session, which focuses on developing 5G and broadband infrastructure to enhance Vietnam’s digital transformation process; Revising the Telecommunications Law and restructuring Vietnam's telecommunications market until 2025; Supporting 5G infrastructure development through uniformed frequency planning in the lower Mekong countries, contributing to the formation of a digital economic region; Applying 5G in promoting industrial production, high-tech agriculture, etc.
The next part will be 2 sessions, in which, Session 1 focuses on effective construction, operation of infrastructure, and value-added services on 5G platform with issues such as digital content development strategy, solutions to increase efficiency information security.
Session 2 focuses on opportunities and challenges of digital transformation enterprises face based on the next generation of telecommunication technology with issues such as improving the quality of cloud computing service, solutions to secure customer data on cloud computing platform, the challenge of applying artificial intelligence to enhance the efficiency of business operations in Vietnam.
Besides the conference, there was also an exhibition of technological achievements in the telecommunications field, as well as models of digital society, digital economy, manufacturing, commerce, and services on the platform. The aim of the exhibition is to introduce digital-based models with high-speed, broadband connections in some typical fields of the 4.0 revolution.
Run Con-Currently with the Conference, the Technology Exhibition to ensure cybersecurity and information security, in collaboration with our Banking Technology Exhibition for the Vietnam Retail Banking Forum 2019, will last for two days, bringing together many products and solutions.
